Rules of Play

64 teams are drawn into eight groups of four teams and play each other in a round-robin system. The eight group winners and runners-up advance to the Winners’ Cup, the rest proceed to the Losers’ Cup. Both Cups are played as knockout tournaments – if you loose you are out.

Group play:

Best of three sets of around round the world starting at 11, ending at 20 and finish with bull (green or red). Classic dart rules apply with single, double or triple but also with “Drei Frische” in play. Warm-up with 6 darts for each player. Team closest to bull (one dart per player) choose which team starts. Teams have equal number of 3 darts in a game. Players alternate after 3 throws. When throwing at bull a player shall finish his 3 darts in order for the player on the not starting team to finish his 3 darts to lose, win or match the starting team (principle of equal number of darts apply). 2 green bulls beat 1 green bull, 1 red bull beats 2 green bulls and 3 green bulls beat 1 red bull. No sudden death.

Standings in groups decided by number of wins and, if even points set difference and, if still even, point difference in last set. Point difference: Green bull one point, red bull 2 points. Example: Team winning with green bull and the other team is shooting for bull, point difference is 1. Team winning with red bull and the other team is shooting for 19, point difference is 4. Standings between teams with same no. of wins, sets and point difference decided by their head-to-head match.
